  • Watching the good ol’days

    Here we are in the middle of 2021, Britain is a mess with the Delta variant of COVID 19 & no one is following the 3ft/1 meter rule anymore. I would not be surprised if we have a 4th wave next month.

    That’s why I’m watching the good ol’days with the RHW of NY from a COVID free time. When things were simpler & you could hug people without worrying. When NYC was bustling with people. It was simpler & safer time in NYC.

    Now, I am not sure, I’d go there to visit as crime is on the rise for the first time in 20 years. The Delta variant is creeping upward & so is the muggings on the subways. It’s sad that COVID has changed a city I know like the back of my hand.

    Hence, reminiscing about the good old days on TV is okay. Since I am still waiting for my second shot of the vaccine; I may as well stay home & watch a city I love.

  • Summertime

    The other week I had to go to a part of town I had never been to before to get my haircut. I ended up walking down to the highway & having a short wait for a bus. Something I was both happy & excited about.

    When I get on the bus it’s standing room only & within a short time of standing on the bus I was harassed by an overweight blond 20 something & her friends who where sisters.

    They began mocking me openly in front of other people on the bus. They where immature & began pointing & didn’t end till I exited the bus in town. I noticed when I got off that several other people sitting there also got off in solidarity with me.

    I walked over to my café & sat there trying to not cry over their imbecilic behavior. I found them later when I was walking to the bus & someone had gotten to them. One of the sisters expression showed me that someone had.

    I am glad a stranger went to bat for me after I got off the bus. It showed that they heard what they were saying & didn’t let them get away with it. For mean, ugly people like that usually gets their karma handed to them.

    Something I strongly believe. I won’t be riding that bus into town again & if I see the ugly fat chick & I am sure her comeuppance has already happened. Karma is swift that way.

  • What being vaccinated means

    In this day & age being vaccinated means alot. Yesterday I got my first shot & I am ecstatic that I am partially vaccinated. It means less paranoia about being around others. Such as riding the bus or being in a crowd.

    I would never have thought that the vaccine would be finished so quickly & to be soo good at protecting you from COVID. It’s a miracle we needed. A cough is no longer a cough in public or a runny nose.

    COVID has changed how we perceive others & ourselves. It’s changed our planet for good & for bad. The germaphobes have become more so & us regular folks just takes each day as it comes.

    Maybe soon we can return to some kind of normal, whatever that means in this day & age. Being able to hug each other without condemnation or looks. But just being human.

    The future finally looks brighter than it has in months. Till next time, remember that Kindness is not a Weakness!
