Infinite Jest by DF Wallace

What’s the longest book you’ve ever read?

It’s one of my favorite reads, to this day. It’s about class differences & crime. I read for a year between 2005-2006. The book takes that long to get through.

There are footnotes & explanations to read but the plot is awesome. It’s about, well you should read it.

Infinite Jest is gripping & well told story only Wallace could. Do people of high standing are really better than the rest of us? That’s the question he grapples with.

Because of his/her standing are they better you? Do you not deserve what they have? That’s the question that gets repeated again & again.

I grew up around people with vast wealth & large houses. Hence, I’m not impressed by money. I’m more impressed by someone’s behavior. Or how they treat others.

I think you’re rich if you’re a good person with good morals. Not money or fake influence. By standing up for yourself in the face of lies & scrutiny says very much about who you are.

I’ve been dealing with slander & defamation of character for over 2 years. The other party has done nothing but threaten me & behave badly. I’m not fazed as I know I’m a good person regardless of what he says.

That’s something Wallace writes about.
