i was thinking about that today. how people have to listen to music or the radio when outside. i listened to the leaves rustling today & it was wonderful sign of Fall. the steps of people walking around the city, the different accents & countries gathered for the championship here in Bergen. i can’t write much more because we have a social media black out for the next week.

i have come to enjoy silence even though it took me many years to do so. but when i have to get somewhere i listen to music. when i have the time i just enjoy listening to what’s happening.

silence is something i got used to when i was alone for 4 months. in the beginning it was uncomfortable like an itch i couldn’t scratch but in the end i liked it & got used to it. i enjoy hiking in the woods & mountains listening to the trees or the sound of my boots hitting the ground. it’s my version of a church.

well, it’s sunday & we spent the usual way. slept in, made breakfast & hung some prints up in the living room. trying to make it more like home although it’s been a transition from small town to norway’s second largest city.

we went for a 3 hour hike behind our apartment yesterday, we got rained on but only briefly. when we left the city center however we where dosed to the bone. really good downpour that lasted a good hour & something.

no more of that spit i got to used to in Seattle, here it pours to the point that i need to invest in a new jacket. see ya gore tex. time to invest in a real raincoat.

i am working @ the bicycle champoinship in a few days & am really nervous. i have to get to one side of Bergen to the other in a 2 hours. i hope i can make it?

other than that the rest of the month looks busy. i just hope i get a chance to tell you how the championship was.

we drove for 3 days from Northern Norway & saw plenty of interesting things. we stopped by the Arctic circle center & aired out the dog. we found a smashing bakery in a small town with a stavkyrke.

we experienced tiny roads and beautiful sites over Sognefjellet & even managed to take a ferries that operate as part of the highway. meeting some really cool people along the way.

we arrived in Bergen close to midnight & missed the beauitful drive in. this weekend we went exploring up the mountain behind our apartment & got to see some fabulous views.

i feel spoiled by american highways after the drive we just took, what we drove on was narrow & scary especially when we encountered on coming trucks. we met a cow on the way down the mountain that wanted to say hello & set off all the parking & accident censors in the car.

we slept in some really crowded hotels on the way down but got see some great small towns & meet fascinating people. i feel lucky & Grateful that we didn’t have any accidents just a cow that pissed off Flekk but had us laughing for a good while afterwards.

now it’s on to new things & experiences in the city.
