so, here in Norway they have blogger awards & you’d think they would give to people to make a difference for women & minorities but No. it’s about how much you have done to your body & your face. no Natural beauties here. sad. there’s a major star from skam who said she would not attend the awards precisely because of that.

i think natural beauty is important in the age of fillers, & botox—plastic surgery. what i remember as a child from Norway has been turned on it’s head. something i find really sad. i live in a bigger city now and see so much fake eyelashes to too much fillers. what happened to accepting yourself for who you really are??

i have days where i don’t feel that pretty or that skinny but i don’t stop eating or binge eat to feel better or even better smoke to supress my hunger. something i see much of & it’s sad. however, i don’t hear about any bloggers here in Norway addressing this. because focusing on the perfection that is unattainable is more important.

the #metoo movement is still important but the fact that influential bloggers in Norway won’t focus on what is happening in society now but instead what is happening in Hollywood is truly sad. i get excited when i see women with their natural beauty i get excited & guys who appreciate a natural beauty in other women instead of porn star, Hollywood ideal out there.

it’s time we claimed natural beauty back and not the glass face without any wrinkles or smile lines. the same with our bodies-it’s not about how skinny you are it’s about accepting who you are regardless of body shape. accept being you. period.

i was upset the other day when i sat in a cafe and heard two guys saying deplorable stuff about #metoo. they where close to my age so i expected empathy not deragetory things about women. as a survivor i view that kind of behavior with disgust. what i am survivor of doesn’t matter because #metoo is for women who have never been able to confront their attackers because of fear.

why, are so many women misusing this movement is beyond me?? it shows very little sympathy for other women who have survived. i think that what is happening is sad. #metoo isn’t about a bad date it’s about violence and blatant harassment. i mean something beyond whistling, deragetory comments about your face, body or what you are wearing. it’s not about what happened to aziz ansari who just had a bad date and a woman who obviously wanted to hurt him.

#metoo is about owning your past no matter how horrific it was and moving past it by being able to confront the attacker(s) and confronting them by getting your dignity back as woman. it’s about taking back something that your attacker took from you. the big hollywood stars that came out had a support system and i urge any woman with a support network to come forward and be empowered. carrying the shame of what happened is draining and can cause many issues. you matter no matter how long it has been. i hear your voice and you should stand up and use it.

so why, you ask, am i writing about a netflix show? i find the writing and the cinematogrophy amazing as the special effects. i like the brilliant child actors in the show that figure out how to fight bad guys in the first season. Eleven is great as someone who was working for the bad guys in the first season to finding herself in the second.

as i am out of the US i found the cast of the show on an American talk show and they where adorable. i think the metaphor for the upside down is great, a dark, horrible place where you can get eaten by monsters. every child’s fear. this season it was filled with caves but also many other things. the upside down doesn’t really leave the characters after their experience but stays with them.

much like an old fashioned nightmare. you think about it for days until you realize that’s the only thing it was. what makes stranger things so great is that the adults created the monsters by some sick experiment and it wrecks havoc on the town and the kids. i found this season refreshing and gross at times but very good. sometimes the upside down is all someone knows and sometimes they get a flicker of light and a beacon of hope and everything changes. just like life.
