What’s the most underrated life skill?
I think the most underrated life skill is self care. We take ourselves for granted & forget about taking care of our mental & physical health. I think we need to be able to sleep without checking our devices constantly. The blue of the screen really does harms us & our ability to sleep.
I think the other underrated life skill is basic common sense. So many people are becoming reliant on something that can destroy us all, AI. AI doesn’t have all the answers. But very many people are becoming reliant on technology. Kids here in Norway, teenagers can hardly read or write. If the internet went out they’d have no ability to actually survive.
That’s frightening, a whole generation that can’t take care of itself. How are they supposed to care about genX. Or their parents? People seem lost in today’s society. Lost in their phones on the bus, lost on their ever so advanced video games. I know I shouldn’t say this but it makes me hope we have a global disaster where the internet is down for an extended period of time.
Why do I wish that, so parents can teach their kids to read & teach them life survival skills, like how to build a fire. Their phones when dead won’t teach them how. I want the world to have an enormous reset. It’s time we thought about the basic & common survival skills for all of us. Where to get water, firewood & food.
Instead of asking some robot to listen to your conversations & giving you advice. We need an actual drill by our government to see who has what it takes if our precious internet goes down & our smart phones are no longer smart.
That’s all the underrated life skills we’ve forgotten about. Life without the internet. How wonderful it was.
