i was ecstatic when i received snow shoes for christmas, i have always liked skiing and being outdoors and i know how to dress, duh growing up in Scandinavian…or so i thought till this past weekend when i pulled a city-slicker move and wore jeans with my gators, and my new shoes kicked up snow to the point that i had to change in the car.
really smart? Not. anyway, i wasn’t upset over the hike being cut short although my beau was; hence i will have to buy a new pair of hard shell pants for my adventures in white. yep. put my soft shell hally hansen pants i have had for 15years on the backburner. i am reluctant but i know better than to be under dressed in temperatures below 30 degrees! i should call it my BlondMoment as that is exactly what it was.
the jeans where drenched and i had to do the ultimate outdoors thingy, and change in the car on the way back; luckily i had i wool socks on goreTex gators that kept me a bit warmer. my snow shoes come with
this awesome spring action that actually clears the snow off, while at the same covering your back in white. ah-hem-i question the design?. who was the genius that thought that flicking snow half way up the back side of a woman is a good idea??
the snow pack was good-solid but light that made the mini snow shoeing trip worth it. i am sitting in my favorite coffee shop watching people paying for parking when the street is Free cause it is like a Holiday, like you don’t have to Pay for parking……
don’t forget that small coffee is Bigger when it is served by a small indep. that actually knows how to roast their beans.
