  • Thanksgiving Thankful List:

    This is a list I do every year& this year is no different.

    This year I’m grateful for my mom recovering from a serious illness. Going to see her in June was one of the highlights of the year.

    For my husband who’s stuck by me when all my health issues started this year. I’m grateful for the medication for my heart. To think that last year I wasn’t allowed to walk Fløyen. Luckily I can still walk it even with my aches.

    Flekk or the four legged creature that turned 10 this Summer. In his old age he prefers to sleep. Something he’s gotten very good at.

    For my new friends who make amazing food & friends who have stayed when others have chosen to walk away. The last 2 years have really shown me who I can rely on.

    For the grateful offerings that always come back in ten folds. I’m grateful for the simple things in life. Like the simple yet effective yoga class I got to take today.

  • My hiking boots & a jacket

    Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

    I spent nearly $400 on hiking boots a few years back during the pandemic. I was embarrassed after how much they cost but the boots were totally worth it. They’re comfortable & I can wear them all day when hiking. Where they are too expensive I don’t think so as when I wear them they pay for themselves.

    The other purchase I made was boiled wool jacket/coat that I bought during the pandemic. It’s warm & comfortable between seasons & I look good in it. It’s over 4 years old & I still get compliments for it.

    What’s the favorite thing you’ve splurged on?

    What was your favorite subject in school?

    I took pride in my English skills at school. I began writing poetry in high school & haven’t stopped. History was just interesting so I liked that as well.

    Considering I survived Reagan’s America & all the anti-immigration comments to think how mild that was in comparison to what’s happening now.

    History is on our side but it often repeats itself as in now. Watergate has nothing on the future administration. The world has become a fragile place. It may break soon if we’re not careful?!
