What’s a song lyric that has stuck with you forever?

I first heard the song over 30 years ago but as things have shifted it has taken on new meaning. The US has changed so much since I was a kid there in the 1980’s.

Manhattan Skyline is a really good song about things shifting & changing. It’s also about New York City; a city I hold close to my heart.

It’s about a bad break up & leaving NYC. The lyrics really have spoken to me for a long time. Because of all the people I left behind to move back to Norway. How a skyline sticks with you, when the band wrote this there was still the Twin Towers.

Manhattan Skyline is & can be about many things. For me the hardest line in the song is about not trying in a relationship. How you stand & wave good bye to someone you may not see again. A chance of a lifetime to see new horizons on the front page a picture of Manhattan Skyline.
