I’ve been writing on this platform since 2007. One of the earliest things I learned was not using identifiers. But using generic descriptions for people, places & things.
I recently was threatened over this blog for using a generic identifier. Everything from psych evals to calling of the police. Why you may ask?
Right now I can’t answer that but simply say that I did nothing wrong.
What is an identifier you may ask, an address, a physical description of someone or a place. By simply using a generic term I did nothing wrong.
Identifiers are no, no within the blogging community. If you use someone’s name & where they live. Yes, you could get into trouble. But when that’s not used there’s no issue.
If you want to put someone in your blog make sure that what you’ve written is factual & a description of their behavior can stand up in the court of law. Not something that can be Googled but an actual description of them.
If someone threatens you remind them that you didn’t use any identifiers & you should be fine. Till next time, happy reading & blogging.
