  • We say goodbye to our beloved King.

    This morning our beloved King passed away today. I’m in sorrow as he was everyone’s grandfather. He meant very much to the people of Norway. His Majesty was the people’s king.

    I’ve been watching the telly all morning & am touched by how we as a nation are grieving him. The king that brought us together after the terror attack of 22 of July.

    Our King was loved by many & wanted to include everyone. He loved his country fiercely & had a motto that was “everything for Norway” alt for Norge. Something that was shown during the World cup this year.

    May you rest in peace, your Majesty.

  • At a Scandinavian club

    How did you meet your significant other?

    I met my husband at a Scandinavian club in Seattle in the early 2000’s. I was a volunteer there & he was a patron. I volunteered there for several years. For their pancake breakfast.

    We started dating in early 2002 but things were not firm between us until 2007. 5 years later. The Scandinavian club was a large part of my life & I really enjoyed being there for breakfast. The club looked out over Lake Union & the city. However, we didn’t get married there. We got married above the Artic Circle in 2010.

    It’s with a heavy heart I write this post. Yesterday our beloved 12 year old Lundehund went over the rainbow bridge. He was a sweetheart & so kind. Although he was big for the breed, he was a gentle giant. We recently took a trip to Northern Norway & he really loved riding in the car & hiking with my husband. Even in complete downpour, he’d go for a walk with my husband. Flekk was a wonderful companion & very sweet. He will be missed.
