Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
I began playing cello in fourth grade & played through high school. The practice & the lessons taught me discipline.
In high school I had a very toxic home life & practicing on my cello & playing in two orchestras saved my life. To this day I still have it but am grateful that I no longer need to rely on it for my own wellbeing.
I became quite good at playing & played the first chair for most of the time I played. Something that required practice every day & listening intently to the conductor of the orchestra.
Playing cello saved my life & gave me something to have as a goal every day. To this day I’m forever grateful for my orchestra pals & that I played the entire score to West Side Story in high school.
