Who are the biggest influences in your life?

Most people writing this will most likely say their parents. For me it’s the people I’m not necessarily related to.

For me the greatest influences in my life have been people I’ve met in unexpected places.

My relative that has the greatest influence on me was my grandmother. Before her dementia got the best of her, she & I were very close.

Now, I’m grateful for her surviving friends that I’ve been lucky enough to get to know.

I can think of several professors that influenced my 20’s. They taught me how to be a critical thinker & not always take someone for being sincere when they’re blowing smoke up your bum.

I think one of my favorite influences is my dear friend & jewelry designer out of Seattle. She taught me that being happy doesn’t mean the biggest rock on your hand but how your partner treats you Before marriage not After.

Or maybe it’s my oldest friend in New York state who taught me that you can come from different backgrounds & still be the best of friends.

I think it’s the people that have stayed when others have flaked that means the most to me. The once you can start convos with as if no time has passed.

Who’s influenced you? If you say a Tiktoker or reality profile you need to look closely at those around you, those are the people that matter. Not some 20 second perfect shot of someone’s life.
