When I was in grade school I witnessed the Challenger explosion on live TV. The teachers never talked about what we saw so a few of us students walked around shell shocked for a few weeks.

In the 1990s we had the Iran Contra mess. That lasted weeks & months on the TV. It was really boring & no one got really held accountable.

There’s been plenty more but those two defined my childhood & high school.
