Do you act like you’re the Only person in the room in cafes & restaurants?

Are you rude to the locals & staff where you are?

Do you openly say Rude & disparaging remarks about those around you?

Do you leave your Airbnb in worse shape than when you entered it?

Then you are an ugly tourist. I’m not going to name countries in this entry but if you do any of the above you should stay home.

Being kind when you travel means you get an aperitif on the house at a restaurant. You don’t say Rude things about others that live where you’re visiting.

When you leave your hotel or Airbnb it looks just like when you came in. You’re kind to rude locals because you never know if they’ll turn up where you’re having dinner or breakfast?

You’re kind to the people that are staying in the same place as you even if they’re not kind back. You say please & thank you & don’t approach the barista with “I want et cetera.” You don’t demand tables at a booked out restaurant.

The list is endless but these are some of my pet peeves when traveling. Be kind. Period.
